¡¡In
1980 ,two sets of large painted bronze chariots and horses were discovered
20m west of the Mausoleum, They were buried about 7.8m,underground
,and placed one after the other facing west in a wooden case which
is 2.2m tall 7m long from the east to the west ,and 2.3m wide from
the south to the north. Having remained for more than 2200 years ,the
wooden case has decayed, and the lop rammed soil caved in .The two
bronze chariots and horses were broken into more than one thousand
pieces .After eight years of careful and painstaking restoration,
they have been restored to their original shape and now are displayed
in the Museum of the Terra-cotta warriors and Horses of the Emperor
Qin Shihuang . This group of the bronze chariots and horede buride
in the underground palace reflects a true picture of the drive system
of the first emperor's imperial chariot team. |
